Lecturer

I've spoken on a variety of subjects including histories of interior decoration and wallpaper to academic and non-academic audiences, including at Sotheby's Institute and the V&A.

I have been an invited lecturer speaking about Japanese stencils (katagami) in Tokyo and Sendai, Japan; and at the Japan Society and Japanese Embassy in London

I have given lectures and run object handling sessions for undergraduate students from a variety of courses at Middlesex University. I've been guest lecturer for Birkbeck, Oxford University, London Metropolitan University and Falmouth University.

I have spoken at numerous academic conferences and was the Convenor for the Design History Society's 2016 conference, on the theme of Design and Time. 

In my role at the Museum of Domestic Design and Architecture I was responsible for academic research on the museum's collections, but also for making that research accessible to a general audience.

I have a PGCHE and am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. I'm currently co-supervising a PhD student whose research focusses on the katagami (Japanese stencils) within the Silver Studio Collection.
